MAGELLAN highlighted during Orano-CEA presentation at VivaTech 2026

23.06.2026

MAGELLAN was promoted during VivaTech 2026, held in Paris from 17 to 20 June 2026. Julie Lanez Maisonneuve, Head of the Permanent Magnet projects at CEA-Liten, and Alexandre Damiens, Director of Development and Industrial Partnerships for Rare Earths / Magnets at Orano, gave a joint presentation at the CEA booth on the Orano-CEA collaboration for permanent magnets and rare earth recycling.

The presentation focused on a strategic challenge for Europe’s green transition and industrial sovereignty: how to secure, recycle and manufacture the rare earth elements and permanent magnets needed for green technologies. The Orano-CEA collaboration was presented as a pathway towards a circular economy, reducing dependence on critical resources while recovering value from end-of-life materials. MAGELLAN was mentioned in the presentation as part of this wider effort to develop resilient and circular value chains via the industrialisation of short-loop recycling for producing high-performance magnets incorporating 25% secondary rare earths.

Through this event, MAGELLAN reached a broad innovation-oriented audience at one of Europe’s major technology events. The activity helped underline the role of research and industrial collaboration in building concrete solutions for competitiveness, strategic independence and the green transition.
