MAGELLAN at REIA – REEsilience Conference

05.03.2024

On Thursday, March 28th, the MAGELLAN Project EU was present at the REEsilience Conference organised by REIA – The Global Rare Earth Industry Association in Brussels.

On behalf of our project, Véronique Peres (Head of R&D for Orano project for Permanent Magnets recycling and manufacturing) participated in the panel discussion focusing on the achievements and objectives of European initiatives on Rare Earth Elements and how they support the goals of the Critical Raw Materials Act.

The discussion highlighted how European projects like the MAGELLAN Project, REEPRODUCE, INSPIRES_Magnet and the FutuRaM project, are critical for driving the progress in research and innovation needed to navigate the rare earths sector’s challenges, crucial for Europe’s energy transition industries.

The event was a great opportunity to emphasise the objectives of our project and further our efforts in creating concrete solutions for magnet recycling in Europe.

Speakers: Peter Tom Jones (KU Leuven), Christian Rainer (Rare Earths Norway AS), Spomenka Kobe (The Jozef Stefan Institute – INSPIRES), Nader Akil (PNO Innovation Belgium – REEPRODUCE), Daniel Monfort (BRGM – FutuRaM), Véronique Peres (Orano – MAGELLAN)
