MAGELLAN is announcing its Final Conference, taking place on 18th of February 2027 at EIT House in Brussels. Under the theme “From policy to R&I: building the conditions for industrial uptake and European resilience”, the event will present the project’s results and explore how industry, policymaking and researchers can take them forward.
The half-day programme will cover functional recycling of end-of-life magnets, advanced manufacturing of near-net-shape magnets through Powder Injection Moulding (PIM), optimised EV traction motor design, pilot-line developments and production of Permanent Magnets with recycled content for high-performance automotive applications. Life Cycle Assessment and Life Cycle Costing will connect these technical developments with their environmental and economic implications.
A policy and industry roundtable will examine the conditions needed to build a European permanent magnet industry, including the EU regulatory framework, standardisation and traceability, industrial scale-up and funding from research to industrialisation.
The conference will also feature technical poster presentations, samples of the project’s Permanent Magnets with recycled content, demonstration videos, and will showcase other related EU-funded projects.
The conference is intended for companies across the value chain, policymakers and standardisation bodies, and researchers working on relevant materials, processes and applications. The programme will also include technical posters and process demonstration videos.
Further programme details will follow.
